The man was arrested and charged with DUI after crashing a 2008 Ford Explorer that was registered to Prince George’s County into another car at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday the 21st and subsequently leaving the scene on foot briefly, according to Maryland State Police. Authorities say that he had walked away from the scene on foot prior to state troopers arriving, but appeared to be heading back to the scene. The troopers “noted signs of possible impairment” and subsequently arrested him after further investigation.
The Explorer crashed into a Mercedes owned by a couple from Upper Marlboro. The couple was injured and taken by ambulance to Prince George’s hospital for medical attention. State police are continuing their investigation and will consult with the Prince George’s State’s Attorney’s Office about the possibility of additional charges, which may include driving while impaired, negligent driving and failure to control speed to avoid a collision.
