A Maryland man lost his life during a January 19 skiing accident at Wisp resort. The man, who was identified as an accomplished skier, lost control while on a slope and struck several trees, as reported by FirstTracksOnline.com.
Reports indicate that the 40-year-old man was skiing on the resort’s Squirrel Cage run with friends as part of the First Tracks program. This allows season pass holders and those with multi-day tickets to use the slopes 90 minutes before they become open to the public. While reports have not indicated what the reason was, the victim lost control and struck trees that were along the trail. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead soon after. He was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
