Trials Suspended; Hearings Continue
We recently received news that Maryland’s Circuit Courts will be suspending all jury trials scheduled between Monday, March 16th and Friday, April 3rd. At this time, we do not know when and how these trials will be rescheduled; when we learn more, we will personally reach out to those whose trials may be affected. We expect the government’s response to COVID-19 to continue evolving and are tracking the news closely to keep you informed.
Despite the freeze on jury trials, the courts will, to our knowledge, hold other proceedings including hearings as scheduled. The one exception to this is Prince George county, which has decided to close both its District and Circuit courts to the public entirely. While internal operations will continue, we expect no cases filed in these courts will progress until this policy is lifted. We understand such a situation is unusual—and are here to answer any questions you might have.
