Are you wondering what you should do after getting pulled over by the police in Maryland? Our criminal defense lawyer explains the steps in this video.

Question:
What should I do if I’m pulled over by the police?
Answer:
You may be wondering what your rights are when you’ve been pulled over by the police. First of all, I would always recommend that you are be pleasant with the police officer, that you not try to get into an altercation with a police officer. The police officer will ask you for your license and registration, and you should provide those to the police officer as soon as possible. The police officer may ask you to get out of the car. I would recommend that you get out of the car and cooperate with that police officer. However, you do not have to do field sobriety exercises in the state of Maryland.; Yyou have an absolute right to refuse those because they are considered a search under the law, and you may assert your right to not be searched as a result of that scenario.
