Question:
What will happen if I lose my license due to a DUI, but continue to drive?
Answer:
If your license is taken away from you or your privilege to drive is taken away from you in the state of Maryland and you continue to drive and you’re stopped by a police officer, you’re subject to arrest and you’re subject to being charged with either driving while suspended and/or driving while revoked. Both of those charges in the state of Maryland carry a one year in jail and a $1000 fine. They’re both misdemeanor offenses. In addition, you are subject to further sanction at the Motor Vehicle Administration for violation of your license restriction.
