According to Maryland State Police Reports for St. Mary’s County and published by somdnews.com, the Leonardtown Barrack of Maryland State Police (MSP) revealed that at 12:55 a.m. on June 10, a Maryland State Police Trooper conducted a traffic stop for a minor traffic violation that eventually led to a drunk driving arrest in St. Mary’s County.
The make and model of the car stopped were not identified, but the passenger car was gold in color. The traffic stop was made in the area of Old Village Road and Route 5. The trooper allegedly detected the strong odor of alcohol coming from the female driver’s breath while he spoke with her. The driver was 32 years old and a resident of Waldorf. The driver consented to field sobriety tests which, once performed, reportedly indicated intoxication.
The female driver was placed under arrest and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol (DUI). She was arrested and taken to St. Mary’s County Detention Center where charges were filed. Pending a bond review, she appeared before a District Court Commissioner.
